James is Director of Community Services for the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. He is responsible for Adult Social Care, Regeneration, Housing and Voluntary Sector Support.
He has led a number of partnerships with statutory, voluntary and private sector partners to develop local services which have been commended by the Audit Commission.
He was the Chair of the London region Association of Directors of Adult Social Services and co-chair of the ADASS Older People’s Network. He was a member of the National Task Force on the Future of Social Work.
James has worked with social services in Hackney and Brent and in the NHS, Voluntary Sector and undertaken community development in Zimbabwe and the Philippines.
